Simon Marmot is a marketing consultant and former ulcerative colitis sufferer.

In 2000, a general practitioner misdiagnosed his irritable bowel disease as a common cold and prescribed a course of antibiotics. The next day, he woke up in agony with ulcerative colitis and his life changed forever.
